H-Street’s second video built on Shackle Me Not and is often named among the most influential skate videos of the late 80s. Mike Ternasky filmed and edited again, keeping the focus squarely on the skating.
Matt Hensley’s part is the reason it’s remembered. His fast, creative street skating, mixing technical tricks with pure style, made him one of the most imitated skaters of the era, and his part still turns up on lists of the best ever. The rest of the team, including Danny Way, pushed things forward too.
Hokus Pokus proved that a small company with a camcorder and the right riders could outshine the industry giants, a lesson that led straight to the rider-owned boom of the early 90s.
