About

SkateArchive is a video archive for skateboarding: new parts, contests, classic full-length videos and the shop catalogs we grew up flipping through, all in one place and sorted so you can actually find them.

Where the videos come from

Every day we pull new uploads from the channels that make skate video: magazines like Thrasher, Jenkem and Free Skate Mag, contests like Street League and X Games, and the board, shoe and wheel companies whose teams are filming. Each video is tagged by skater, brand and type, so a Hall of Meat, a trick tip and a full part each land where they belong. Videos play from YouTube and always credit the channel that posted them.

Classic videos

The classic videos section is a timeline of landmark skate videos from the Bones Brigade era through the 2010s, filed by release year. When a company has posted its own full video, it plays right on the page, along with any individual parts from it.

CCS catalogs

The CCS catalog archive collects California Cheap Skates mail-order catalogs from 1987 to 2012. Swipe through every page of the boards, shoes and ads that defined each season. The scans come from collectors who uploaded them to the Internet Archive.

The community

Anyone 13 or older can make an account and post skate videos from YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Every video gets voted dope or wack, and the dopest community posts make the front page. The leaderboard shows what the crowd thinks.

Who runs it
