Six years after Memory Screen, Alien Workshop returned with Timecode. By then the Ohio company had grown into one of the most respected brands in skateboarding, and the video shows a team hitting its stride.
The strange, artful mood of the first video carried over, but the skating had caught up with the late-90s street scene: raw, fast and full of East Coast grit, from a crew that included Rob Dyrdek, Josh Kalis, Fred Gall, Lennie Kirk and Mike Hayes. At about 21 minutes it’s short by modern standards, and every minute counts.
Timecode is the bridge in Alien Workshop’s story, connecting the experimental early years to the powerhouse team that made Photosynthesis three years later. This copy was posted by Alien Workshop itself.
